Program Coordinator (Gold Star Mom)
Leesa Philippon is a US Army veteran and a Gold Star Mother. Having grown up in a military family, served in the US Army, married a soldier and raised two United States Marines, she is experienced in many facets of military family life. She brings her experience of working with the veteran population at the Connecticut Department of Veteran Affairs John Levitow Healthcare Facility in Rocky Hill, CT. She also served in state service with the CT Dept. of Emergency Services and Public Protection. As a Gold Star Mom, Leesa has worked with many organizations and municipal, state and federal officials to focus on support of our veterans and their families. Leesa has been married to her husband, Ray Philippon, for 36 years and is the proud mom of two sons and a daughter. Her oldest son, Lcpl Lawrence Philippon was KIA in Iraq on May 5, 2005. Picking up the torch to ensure care and quality lives for the brothers and sisters in arms of her two Marines is a heartfelt passion.
